Ability Handling recently delivered a “Dalek” to Fusion Provida at their National Distribution Centre based in Chesterfield. Now of course it wasn’t an actual “Dalek” we delivered but a JLG Vertical Stockpicker; this was then christened by the driver in light hearted comedy as the “Dalek”.

Fusion Provida have decided to hire the JLG vertical stockpicker on a long term basis and in doing so it means that they have a more economical and tax efficient monthly hire rate and no forklift truck maintenance costs to worry about as we have this taken care of.

Fusion Provida is one of the UK’s leading distributors of products used on gas, water and electricity infrastructure projects. Although they have a number of supporting depots across the UK their National Distribution Centre as mentioned is based in Chesterfield.

The Stockpicker was required as they needed a machine which could work within a limited space. As the JLG Verticle Stockpicker is compact in size and has a small turning circle whilst being extremely nippy it was decided that this would provide them with the perfect solution for their problems.

They use it within their racking aisles and it has the ability to pick up jus over 7m meaning that they can also use the JLG Stockpicker to access the roof lights and change bulbs amongst other things and so now they do not have to hire in a cherry picker or scissor lift to do cutting down their overall costs.

Customer orders can be easily picked and packed making the whole process a lot easier for all involved and in addition that warehouse maintenance costs have been reduced dramatically.
