Rotherham based Advanced Alloys have just taken delivery of five more HELI Lithium-ion electric trucks, taking their tally to seven machines and totally replacing their previous IC engine fleet. Advanced Alloys had one of our first demonstrations of the new HELI machines back in 2022 and within a couple of weeks had placed an order for their first truck. Now, just over 2 years later, they have completed the tranformation of their entire fleet to electric.
Advanced Alloys operate from a purpose built 44,000 sq ft facility in Dinnington on a former colliery site supplying high purity pure metals and fully processed and certified superalloy revert to customers all over the world. An independent private company, Advanced Alloys employ degree qualified metallurgists providing an unrivalled understanding of customer requirements and expertise across a wide cross-section of the superalloy industry. They hold an extensive range of stock of various pure metals and superalloys available for same or next day delivery.
Advanced Alloys have taken a mix of 2.5 and 3.0 ton HELI G2 Lithium-ion machines, fitted with 4.7m triplex masts and integral sideshift. Trucks to be used outside have been specified with partial cabs and a couple of the trucks to be used for specific handling operations have been fitted with ATIB rotators. All the trucks have front and rear blue safety lights fitted.
What sets the HELI G2 apart from most other electric trucks, including most other Lithium battery trucks for that matter, is the fact it derives from an engine truck design; featuring big wheels, proper hydraulic levers and a robust stable chassis. Installed into this chassis is a proven Lithium-ion battery from leading manufacturer CATL and a state of the art control system from ZAPI. This combination results in a battery electric truck that can genuinely replace conventional diesel and LPG trucks operating in a yard environment.
With all trucks now installed and operational, Advanced Alloys are putting them through their paces and proving that the future really is electric!
